What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is holistic. It revives the inner intelligence and restores the mind, body, and soul.
Ayurveda is ancient, and thousands of years old. According to Ayurveda, there are five natural elements, these are:
ether, air, fire, water, and earth.
The name Ayurveda originated from the Sanskrit words ayur, which means life, and Veda, which means: science or Knowledge. That brings us together: Ayurveda: The translation becomes: knowledge of life.
Balance:
A healthy life, living, lifestyle means a Balanced life.
Imbalances:
Any imbalance means unhealthy.
Based on this idea any imbalance is the cause of all disease.
All imbalances are an indication of stress in a person's consciousness. This is why meditation is essential. Ayurveda suggests holistic lifestyle, and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, soul, and the surrounding.
Mistake
There is one concept we do need to understand, the meaning of Pragyaparadh.
This word: Prag-y-aparadh
Aparadh means sin, and Pragya means Budhi-- intellect.
Together: Pragyaparadh, which means: the mistake of the intellect.
Ayurveda brings the person back to the holistic self.
A balanced Self-- Holistic, wholesome soul.
Self-realized, and enlightened.
